2 shots of espresso (or 1/2 cup coffee)
1/2- 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 cup frozen banana (~2 small bananas or 1 large)
1 Tablespoon (heaping) natural peanut butter
3 dashes cinnamon
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
Place all ingredients into the blender, except the protein powder.
Blend until smooth consistency. Then add protein protein.
Blend until just combined and smooth.
This smoothie has all of the flavors I want and need in a cup. This is my re-creation of my go-to order at Green Brothers Juice Company. I always order a vegan Mr. Joe, which is a perfect combination of coffee-chocolate and cinnamon-banana.
Green Brothers is a local juice and smoothie bar in Charlotte, NC. One of their locations is about 5 minutes from my house, and the quality of their food products is always top notch. They pride themselves on organic and local ingredients, and you can taste the difference.
However, sometimes I just don’t have the time to take an extra trip, and let’s be honest. I can do this at home and save some money as well. And I bet you have most of the ingredients on hand already.
The amount of almond milk here is variable depending on the consistency you prefer for your smoothie. I’d always recommend starting with a smaller amount, because you can always add more if desired.
